The first-place Griswold Vampires picked up another win.
Griswold pitcher Bernardo Carrillo had a large part in his team subduing the Stamford Locksmiths, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The first-place Vampires have won 4 in a row.
Had Atanasio Peñaflor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Peñaflor hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Vampires.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Griswold manager Eufemio Ahumada.
