Hurtado Lifts Locksmiths to 12-5 Triumph
Locksmiths shortstop Gilberto Hurtado left his imprint on his team's 12-5 win over the Mystic Drawbridges. Hurtado went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs for Stamford in the contest. The winner was Federico López, who threw 105 pitches over 9 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 10 hits. The third-place Locksmiths bumped their record to 45-46.

Stamford used a well-timed hit by Antonio Mesa to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Locksmiths ahead, 6-5. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Stamford manager Jerry Moore. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
