Wet weather did not postpone the Cranston-Providence ballgame.

Cranston turned a good effort from starter Osvaldo Rosales into a win over the Providence Gems at Madonna's Niche. The Madonnas won the game, 5-1. The winner was Rosales. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Baldovino Font. The save went to Ciro Quintanar, number 10 for him.

The fans who came to support the Madonnas were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Madonna's Niche.

"Osvaldo is a tough competitor," said Cranston manager Marcos Aldarondo.

Cranston, now 62-29, holds down first place in the Southern New England Association Rhode Island Circuit.
