6-1 Locksmiths Win over Drawbridges Evens Season Record
The Stamford Locksmiths downed the Mystic Drawbridges, 6-1, at Ballpark By The Water. Stellar pitching by John Mickey had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Stamford currently is in third place in the Southern New England Association Connecticut Circuit at 46-46.

Stamford used the timely hitting of Atilio Vargas to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Locksmiths on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.

Vargas said his team "played with focus."
