Foxes Use Late Surge to Win
The Woonsocket Foxes beat the Providence Gems, 5-4 -- though it took them 10 innings. Woonsocket catcher Lewis Watson had a pretty good game. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. The win elevated the Foxes to 49-45.

In the top of the tenth, Woonsocket got a clutch hit from Jon Geary. The pinch hitter belted a solo home run, putting the Foxes up, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a decisive one.

"I told our guys, 'Runs don't score by themselves,'" said Watson. "You need someone to get on base and someone to drive them in."
