Headstones Lose to Melodeons in Walk-Off
The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.

Bennington Melodeons starter Isaac Castro took the mound against the Barre Headstones at Melodeon Grounds; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 3-2 win. Bennington is now 66-36, while Barre is 48-54.

César Leal had a productive trip to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a sacrifice fly, helping Bennington to the win.

During his postgame press conference, Melodeons manager Alcides González told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
