In a low-scoring affair between the Auburn Cordwainers and the Bangor River Hogs, pitcher Armando Dacal was the difference between victory and defeat. The Auburn right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Cordwainers win. Dacal went the distance for Auburn. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The Cordwainers saw their win-loss record go to 61-47. At the same time, the River Hogs fell to 53-55.

Auburn used a timely hit from Jesús Durón to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cordwainers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I was dog tired," said Dacal. "But I really wanted to finish the thing off."
