Drawbridges Curb Regicides, 6-3

The Mystic Drawbridges picked up a win at Stuart Memorial Park, knocking off the New Haven Regicides, 6-3. Starting pitcher Rodrigo Bernal was a big reason why. The winner was Bernal. He threw 8.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was José García. Juan Barreto wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
Had Edén Cayetano not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Cayetano hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Drawbridges.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Bernal. "Successful pitchers do it."
The loss makes New Haven 57-52.
