Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Bangor River Hogs and Lewiston Quebeckers.

The Bangor River Hogs defeated the Lewiston Quebeckers, 5-4, in part because of third baseman Gerardo Cáceres. Cáceres went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 times for the River Hogs. Bangor is third in the Northern New England Association Maine Circuit with a record of 54-56.

The River Hogs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 29-year old left fielder Luis López landed a big blow. He turned a 1-0 fastball from Harland Vaillancourt into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the The Log Flume denizens into a frenzy and sent the River Hogs home with a thrilling 5-4 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said López. "It was a great win."
