Downbound Deep Ones Lose 8th Straight

The Falmouth Submersibles picked up a win at Innsmouth-under-the-Shadow Park, dropping the Newburyport Deep Ones, 3-2. Abdías Cervantes, who is tied for 8th in the SNEA in complete games with 17, was the difference-maker. Cervantes yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-13. Newburyport now owns a losing streak of 8 games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Arasibo Alfonso? The 29-year old shortstop Alfonso stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Falmouth up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
