The Cranston Madonnas and Woonsocket Foxes completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Woonsocket Foxes could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Harry Buckner into a win. Instead, the Cranston Madonnas prevailed, 6-2. Buckner went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs. The first-place Foxes have dropped 4 straight games.
Cranston first baseman Periandro Solís contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 44th hit of the season and put the Madonnas ahead, 2-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Solís.
