Floundering Deep Ones Lose 6th Straight

Innsmouth Park featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Rocking Horses faced a stiff challenge from Newburyport pitcher Carlos Royer, but persevered to claim a win at Innsmouth Park. The final score was 2-1. Royer went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Newburyport is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Winchendon used a timely hit from Luis Reyes to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocking Horses ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rocking Horses manager Roberto Ortiz, "I like our chances."
