The Auburn Cordwainers picked up a win at The Grove, topping the Waterville Elms, 4-1. On the mound for Auburn was right-hander Eugenio Lugo. He played a principal role in the triumph. The 68-53 Cordwainers lead the Northern New England Association Maine Circuit by one game.

Lugo's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 6 hits. Lugo, who leads the NNEA with a 1.00 WHIP, goes to 20-7 on the year with 179 strikeouts.

"Eugenio was terrific -- better than terrific, really," said Auburn manager Esteban Hernández.
