Winchendon Rocking Horses starter Calvino Mejía turned in a top-notch performance against the Templeton Red Onions at The House of Sorrow. The result was a win for the Rocking Horses, 3-1. The winner was Mejía. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Jaime Contín. Ramón Govantes wrapped it up, recording his 8th save.

Winchendon used the timely hitting of José Alvarado to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rocking Horses on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's fun coming to the ballpark," said Mejía, "when you're on this kind of roll."

The setback makes Templeton 61-60.
