The Bennington Melodeons topped the Burlington Lightermen, 4-1, in Northern New England Association action at Melodeon Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Bennington pitcher and Cuba, native José Romero. The Melodeons raised their record to 81-42.

Romero, the winner, is now 20-12. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 5 Ks. He essentially shut down the Burlington offense.
