Win Goes to Spuds in Tight Contest
In a high-scoring game between Derry and Manchester, right fielder Luke Evans was a difference-maker. The 29-year-old helped Derry grab the 9-8 win. He was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. With the win over Manchester, the Spuds improved to 54-76.

Derry used a timely hit from Roberto Ramírez to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Spuds ahead, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Diego Macilla said.
