Not everyone stuck through the 22-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Brattleboro Melodeons picked up a win at Harmonious Grounds, knocking off the Rutland Quarrymen, 7-0. Starting pitcher Gabriel García was a big reason why. Brattleboro sits in first place in the Northern New England Association Vermont Circuit at 75-55.

García's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 8.1 innings while allowing 6 hits. García, who is tied for 7th in the NNEA in strikeouts with 195, goes to 13-9 on the year with 195 strikeouts.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said García.
