Deep Ones Suffer 6-4 Loss to Rocking Horses
The Winchendon Rocking Horses and Newburyport Deep Ones completed their game despite the rain.

Winchendon starter Alfredo Guzmán pitched well against the Newburyport Deep Ones at Innsmouth-under-the-Shadow Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Ramón Govantes, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 21st save.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Beloveso Corchado? The Winchendon shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rocking Horses on top, 5-1. For the game, Corchado had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Corchado told the Winchendon Herald.

The Rocking Horses now have a record of 79-51 with the win over Newburyport.
