Stagecoaches Use Late Rally to Win
The Derry Spuds were defeated, 4-3, by the Concord Stagecoaches at The Potato Patch, even though Bernardo Ramírez pitched well for Derry. Pedro Marrón, the winning pitcher, is now 14-11. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 1 and walking 3. The first-place Stagecoaches have a record of 71-60.

Had it not been for Rutilio López, the results might have been different. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Stagecoaches were trailing 3-2, López hit a 2-run single for Concord, giving his team the lead.

"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," López told the Concord Observer.
