Gary and Sheboygan got after it at Stadium of a Thousand Degrees.

Jesse Wilson brought his A-game to help Gary defeat the Sheboygan Brats, 5-1. Wilson, now 10-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 run.

Gary got a big at-bat from Gatineau, Canada native Ty Hamilton, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 16th double of the season and put the Blast Furnaces ahead, 4-0.

"Jesse had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Gary manager Charlie Barber.

With the victory, the Blast Furnaces upped their record to 37-33.
