Salinas Leads Whalebacks to 14-7 Win Over Rapids
The Superior Whalebacks downed the Sault St. Marie Rapids, 14-7. The hitting star was right fielder Clemente Salinas. Salinas was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Whalebacks. Superior now owns a record of 27-43.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Whalebacks grabbed the lead when Generoso Maldonado rapped a two-out double. Superior was trailing 5-4, when Maldonado hit a 2-run double off Telamón Torres to put his team in front, 6-5.

"Good win for us," said Maldonado. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
