Florida pitcher Latif bin Afif had a large part in his team subduing the Arecibo Cachorros, 8-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. In 7.1 innings, bin Afif surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Estribaciones are now 16-6.
Early in the game, left fielder Judá Vela had a 2-run home run for Florida. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Estribaciones on top, 2-0.
