Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown San German Hermosos take on the Hormigueros Companeros.

The San German Hermosos picked up a win at Parquecito de San Germán, knocking off the Hormigueros Companeros, 5-4. On the mound for San German was right-hander Rogelio Chong. He played a key role in the triumph. San German is now 14-10, while Hormigueros is 16-8.

The Companeros had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hermosos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 17-year old third baseman Francisco González came to the plate. González hit a 2-run double on a first pitch changeup from Hormigueros hurler Adam Wayney. It was González's 6th double of the year.

"Pedal to the metal" is how San German manager Eduardo Castañeda described his team's approach.
