The Barceloneta Guardiamarinas picked up a win at Parquecito de Vega Baja, knocking off the Vega Baja Dulzones, 6-3. Starting pitcher Ernesto Pedraza played a key role in the triumph. The loss makes Vega Baja 14-11.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Inocente Alvarado? The 21-year old second baseman Alvarado stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Barceloneta up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"Ernesto had good life on his pitches," said Barceloneta manager Raúl Ortiz.
