The fans at El Escombrón witnessed quite a game.

The Lajas Fobianos beat the Hormigueros Companeros, 8-7, in 10 innings, in part because of first baseman Rosendo Mercado. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. The win gives the Fobianos a record of 9-18.

The Fobianos relied on pinch hitter Pedro Mendoza for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"We'll build on this win," said Mercado.
