The Juncos Chiringas could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Pedro Quezada into a win. Instead, the Culebra Careyes prevailed, 4-3, in 11 innings. Quezada threw 10.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Now 20-8, the Careyes have won 12 games in a row.

Culebra used a timely hit from 21-year old second baseman Gilberto López to get the win. The second baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Careyes on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.

"I like what I saw today," said Culebra manager Mateo Pereira, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
