Both teams had their chances, but the Las Piedras Peritos eventually prevailed.
The Las Piedras Peritos picked up a win at Parquecito de Las Piedras, knocking off the Villalba Banqueros, 4-3. Starting pitcher Assunção Franco was a big reason why. At 10-17, the Peritos claim 10th place in the Liga José Padilla División Carmen Bozello y Guzmán.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Benoît Latour wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Villalba pitcher Orlando Flores had other ideas. He wanted to end the Las Piedras rally. What happened next? With two outs, Latour hit a run-scoring single -- and the Peritos erupted in celebration.
Said losing manager Keaton Darrah: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
