Rodríguez hits 2 home runs as Aprendices Drub Limbers, 18-1
|
With catcher Felipe Rodríguez leading the charge, the Guayama Aprendices defeated the Aibonito Limbers, 18-1, at Parquecito de Guayama. Rodríguez, who is tied for 8th in the LJP in hits with 45, hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Shinsui Yonamine earned the win for Guayama. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 7-1. Guayama is now 25-5. Aibonito is 9-21.
Rodríguez had a big hit for Guayama with one out in the bottom of the third. With Guayama leading 3-0, Rodríguez hit a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Aprendices up, 7-0.
Aibonito manager Nick Scharf called the blowout loss "not what I expected when I rolled out of bed this morning."
