Excepciones Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The Morovis Excepciones had to overcome a good performance from Jayuya pitcher Teófilo Burns to claim a 3-2 win at Parquecito de Jayuya. Burns went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Dagoberto Tapia got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. With the win, Morovis goes to 12-18, while the Picachos fall to 14-18.
Morovis used the timely hitting of Robert Ferrua to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Excepciones on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Ferrua called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
