Banqueros Win with Late Heroics
The Villalba Banqueros outlasted the Coamo Perritos de Pradera in an extra-inning thriller.

The Villalba Banqueros did just enough to nip the Coamo Perritos de Pradera, 4-3, in 11 innings. Villalba pitcher Nicolás Quiñones, in particular, had a standout performance. Villalba is in third place in the Liga José Padilla División Carmen Bozello y Guzmán with a record of 20-15.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, Aristóteles Zamora wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Coamo pitcher Sullivan Walker had other ideas. He wanted to end the Villalba rally. What happened next? With no outs, Zamora hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Banqueros erupted in celebration.

"Nicolás throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Villalba manager Noé Fernández.
