The Mayaguez Alfereces dealt the Lares Gritantes a 5-4 loss at Parquecito de Lares. Aimón Sánchez was the star on offense. He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. With the win, Mayaguez has a record of 16-21. Lares falls to 22-17.

With Mayaguez leading 4-2 in the top of the ninth, Sánchez hit a fastball from Dillon Attwood for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Alfereces ahead, 5-2.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Mayaguez manager Julián Ángeles.
