Báquides Orellana, who is tied for 7th in the LJP in quality starts with 7, had a strong outing for the Arroyo Conmutadores against the Patillas Panaderos at Parquecito de Patillas. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Orellana, now 3-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The 12th-place Conmutadores improved to 15-22.
Arroyo used a well-timed hit by Eduardo Olivas to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Conmutadores ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Olivas said his team "played with determination."
