Gritantes Lose, 4-3, as Husares Rally
|
San Sebastian pitcher Walter McNew did his part in helping his team beat the Lares Gritantes, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. McNew, now 4-3, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. San Sebastian has now won 5 games in a row.
Procopio Torres came through with a big-time hit for San Sebastian. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
McNew said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
