Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old catcher Atilio Terrazas, the Manati Hoplitas defeated the Arecibo Cachorros, 14-1. Manati pitcher Eleuterio Ramos got the win. He's now 1-0. Orlando Torres was tagged with the loss. The Hoplitas raised their record to 23-19.

Ovidio Pereira had a big 2-run double for the Hoplitas in the top of the second inning. With Manati leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Orlando Torres and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hoplitas ahead, 3-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Juan Mendoza.
