Aprendices Beaten, 5-1, by Humacao
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Humacao Aguaceros take on the Guayama Aprendices.
The Humacao Aguaceros used the hitting of second baseman Donncha Clark to subdue the Guayama Aprendices, 5-1. For the game, Clark was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Humacao pitcher Judá Padilla earned the win, hiking his record to 4-6. Shinsui Yonamine suffered the loss. Picking up the save was José Domínguez, his 1st.
With Humacao leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Clark came up to bat against Guayama pitcher Shinsui Yonamine. Clark hit a splitter to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Aguaceros on top, 4-1.
Clark told a Humacao Bulletin reporter that he was "very happy" with the win.
Humacao's record now stands at 20-24, placing them 8th in the Liga José Padilla División Carmen Bozello y Guzmán.
