The Corozal Maduritos picked up a win at Parquecito de Corozal, knocking off the Barranquitas Insignes, 4-1. Starting pitcher Blair McDonald played a key role in the triumph. McDonald yielded 1 run over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-5. Corozal, now 23-25, holds down 9th place in the Liga José Padilla División Eugenio Ortiz.

Jorge Serafín had a big 2-run home run for the Maduritos in the bottom of the second inning. With Corozal leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Emérico Vásquez and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Maduritos ahead, 3-0.

McDonald told a Corozal Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
