Soggy conditions did not keep Las Piedras and Cayey from playing their scheduled game.

A good performance from second baseman Cowan Cox helped the Las Piedras Peritos defeat the Cayey Brumosos, 19-5. Cox went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Peritos. The win was credited to 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jaime Sánchez in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Víctor Molina took the loss.

Pascual Flores hit a 2-run double off Víctor Molina in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Peritos in front, 6-5. In addition to the double, Flores had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 5.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Cox.

With the win, the Peritos have a record of 31-20.
