Mayaguez Gets 6-2 Win
|
The Mayaguez Alfereces topped the Quebradillas Escondidos, 6-2, in Liga Mariana Bracetti action at Parquecito de Quebradillas. The standout performance belonged to Mayaguez pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native José Domínguez. After today's action, Mayaguez sits at 22-30, while Quebradillas falls to 32-20.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mateo López? The Mayaguez center fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Alfereces on top, 3-1. For the game, López had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Mayaguez skipper Julián Ángeles.
