Sabaneros Use Late Rally to Win
|
The Cidra Sabaneros picked up a win at Parquecito de Cidra, knocking off the Orocovis Behiques, 3-0. Starting pitcher Luis Torres was a big reason why. Torres, now 5-7, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The save went to Vitaliano Bonelli, his 1st this season.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when left fielder Alberto Sánchez hit a triple. The Sabaneros went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Torres told a Cidra Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
With the win, Cidra goes to 21-32, while the Behiques fall to 32-23.
