Chiringas Best Criptidos in Pitching Duel
|
Tarasio Gallo pitched well, but the Canovanas Criptidos still lost the game, falling, 2-1, to the Juncos Chiringas at Parquecito de Juncos. Ricardo Rodríguez picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 4 in 7.2 innings, while yielding 1 run. Santiago Rubio closed the door for Juncos, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
The Chiringas got a lift from second baseman Benigno Zelaya, who in the bottom of the third hit a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season put the Chiringas on top, 2-0.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Zelaya. "It sure beats the alternative."
The Chiringas move to 29-29 with the win, while the Criptidos drop to 43-13.
