6-3 Win for Lares Over Hatillo
|
The Lares Gritantes grabbed a win, 6-3, over the Hatillo Tritones at El Palacio Dorado. Lares third baseman Nicolás Martín was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Jorge López picked up the save for Lares, his 1st of the year. At 37-22, the Gritantes claim second place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
Lares used a well-timed hit by Héctor Brizuela to capture the win. The catcher socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Gritantes ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Brizuela.
