The Mackinac Island Stone Skippers defeated the Alpena Partridges, 6-5, at Birds' Nest of Alpena. Mackinac Island shortstop Procopio Guzmán had a superb performance. He went 2-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 4 RBI. The Stone Skippers move to 35-41 with the win, while the Partridges drop to 32-48.

Guzmán had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Amadeo Jiménez, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Stone Skippers a 5-3 lead. It was the 12th double of the year for Guzmán.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Guzmán.
