Halites Rally to Win
The Syracuse Halites defeated the Rochester Lilac Stockings, 5-4, in 18 innings in Eastern Great Lakes Association action at Salt City Park. Syracuse pitcher Gabino López had a standout performance. Syracuse is second in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Ontario with a record of 41-39.

When he batted in the bottom of the 18th, Nicolás Palacios had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Rochester pitcher Gelmiro Reyes was determined not to let him. But with one out, Palacios drew a walk, driving in 1 run -- and the Halites had a suspense-filled triumph.

Syracuse manager Jack Neagle had little to say after the game except that his team was "spent."
