The Syracuse Halites topped the Utica Half Moons by a score of 9-4. Leading the way was shortstop Antonio Villa. Villa went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk for the Halites. The second-place Halites improved to 43-41.

The Halites benefited from an error in the top of the seventh inning. Syracuse was leading 5-4 when Héctor Ríos hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Syracuse in front, 7-4.

"We maximized our offense today," said Syracuse skipper Jack Neagle. "That makes everyone's life easier."
