Half Moons Lose as Halites Stage Late Rally
Syracuse and Utica duked it out and the Halites came out victorious.

The Syracuse Halites defeated the Utica Half Moons, 8-5. First Baseman Juan Rubio deserved a large share of the credit. Rubio was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Halites. Gabino López closed it out for Syracuse, earning his 14th save.

Arsenio Martínez provided a timely hit. The Syracuse designated hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Halites on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Syracuse manager Emerson Pye.

With the win, Syracuse has a record of 51-35. Utica falls to 38-48.
