The first-place Saginaw Joes took on the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers in front of a spirited crowd.

Luis Díaz was a major factor in the 9-6 Saginaw win over Mackinac Island. The Joes second baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Joes sit in first place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron with a record of 77-31.

Saginaw took the lead on Díaz's 24th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Ramón Durán in the bottom of the sixth, made the score 8-6, Saginaw.
