Erie Naval Yards was the site for Eastern Great Lakes Association action featuring the Norwalk Maples and Erie Commodores.

A 5-RBI performance from catcher Goliat Valencia, who is tied for 9th in the EGLA with a .598 slugging percentage, led the Erie Commodores to a win over the Norwalk Maples, 11-2. Marco Tablada got credit for the win, improving to 13-8. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 8.1 innings.

With Erie leading 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Valencia hit a curveball from Pablo Cortés for a bases-clearing double. It was his 21st double of the season and put the Commodores ahead, 7-1.

"Not much went right for us," Norwalk manager Igor Santiago said, when asked afterward about the game.

The defeat makes Norwalk 39-49.
