Starting pitcher Nepomuceno Muñoz pitched well enough to help the Syracuse Halites beat the Oswego Hydropathists, 5-4. The first-place Halites improved to 53-36.

Syracuse designated hitter Arsenio Martínez helped the Halites go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the game tied, Martínez hit a run-scoring single off Oswego pitcher Felipe Guerrero.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Muñoz. "And vice-versa."
