The Alpena Partridges defeated the Bay City Sugar Beets in 14 innings, 8-7, in part because of left fielder Fred Odwell. Odwell was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 for the Partridges. Reliever Michael Denis picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ed Pinnance took the loss. With the game tied in the bottom of the 14th, Odwell delivered for Alpena. That's when he hit a run-scoring single off Ed Pinnance to win the game.
