Duluth got a strong outing from Anaxímenes Valverde as the Zeniths defeated the Marquette Smelters, 3-2, at Peak Performance Park. The defeat makes Marquette 50-42.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Duluth. That's when Vidal López, who is tied for 8th in the WGLA in doubles with 29, hit a run-scoring double off Luis García to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

López called the win "a collective effort."
